What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and understand how you use it.

Cookies we use

Essential cookies

These are required for the application to function. They include session authentication cookies (via NextAuth.js) that keep you signed in and CSRF protection tokens. You cannot opt out of these.

  • next-auth.session-token — Authentication session
  • next-auth.csrf-token — Cross-site request forgery protection
  • next-auth.callback-url — Redirect URL after sign-in

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the application. These cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors, where visitors have come from, and the pages they visited.

  • _ga — Distinguishes users (expires: 2 years)
  • _ga_* — Maintains session state (expires: 2 years)

Functional cookies

These store your preferences such as cookie consent choice.

  • cookie-consent — Records your cookie preference (localStorage)

Managing cookies

When you first visit the site, a banner will ask you to accept or decline analytics cookies. If you decline, Google Analytics will be disabled for your session. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings at any time. Clearing your browser data will reset your cookie preferences.

Third-party services

We integrate with third-party services (Dropbox, Google Calendar) at your request. These services may set their own cookies when you authenticate with them. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months. Authentication session cookies expire when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
